Moy Park’s Roast in the Bag Pork Sage & Onion stuffed whole chicken has been shortlisted in the prestigious 37 th Quality Food Awards.
The innovative product, which is one of a three strong Moy Park branded Roast in the Bag range was among 1,000s of products, from across the UK, to go through a rigorous judging process to be shortlisted in the Meat: Ready to Cook category.
The ‘shelf to oven’ range of whole chicken products was launched under the Moy Park ‘Good Kitchen’ brand and developed to target a growing market for added-value fresh chicken products. The roast-in-the-bag ‘ready to cook’ whole chickens are locally sourced and come in three flavours – Irish Quality Food Award winning – ‘Extra Tasty’, ‘Garlic & Herb’ and Pork, Sage and Onion Stuffed.
Offering the chance to be crowned the best product on grocery shelves, the Quality Food Awards are considered the ultimate endorsement of food products on offer to consumers. And, because each product is put through a rigorous judging process by a uniquely prestigious team of over 200 food experts, consumers and entrants can buy their favourite products safe in the knowledge that each winning accreditation is credible and deserved.
“We are delighted to be shortlisted for the latest addition to our Moy Park branded Roast in the Bag range,” commented Briege Finnegan, Moy Park Brand Marketing Manager.
“It is recognition of the high quality of the Pork, Sage and Onion stuffed variant. We developed the range to offer consumers a convenient shelf to oven roast in the bag chicken, making it ideal for those who don’t like touching raw meat or don’t have time to prepare a raw chicken from scratch. The packaging self-vents and enables the chicken to self-baste throughout the cooking process, which results in more succulent meat and an enhanced flavour. Due to the innovative nature of the packaging, the chicken browns in the pack without having to open it during cooking.”
“Since the launch of the Extra Tasty and Garlic and Herb varieties in April 2015 the range has gone from strength to strength – with the products listed in major retailers across Ireland, and convenience retailers in NI, ROI and GB. The innovative nature of the product speaks for itself, and I’m glad the judges agreed.”
Organised by Metropolis Business Media, group publisher Helen Lyons comments,
“Now in its 37th year, these prestigious awards are perfect for small and large producers alike. What sets us apart is the impartiality and rigour of the judging process, which rightly sits at the heart of everything we do – it means people buying products with the Q Mark know they are choosing the best in the market.”
The winners will be announced at an award ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House on 10th November 2016.
